In-Home Pet Visits

There are advantages to keeping your pet in its home while you are away, especially if your pet can be left alone without becoming destructive or, for dogs, barking constantly. For these pets, the Just Happy Dogs In-home visit may be the right choice. It means your pet can stay in the environment he/she is familiar with and around the sights and smells to which they have become accustomed.

The other reasons you might consider the in-home visit over boarding are that you have a multi-pet household or your dog has not been fully vaccinated against kennel cough (canine influenza and bordetella). Almost all boarding facilities, including ours, require these vaccinations for the safety of all dogs. If something has come up last minute for you, boarding your dog may just not be possible.

The only downside to the in-home visit is the loneliness factor as one or two in-home visits a day don’t equal the amount of time a pet is around his or her pet guardian.

At Just Happy Dogs, our philosophy is to fill that half hour or hour with as much fun as possible. Our drop-in visits are geared to giving your furry friend the playtime and companionship they need, in addition to care, feeding and a potty break.

Our in-home visits cover all domesticated animals. If it’s your pet, we’ll take care of it in your absence. The emphasis here is on companionship and playtime (for dogs and cats mostly). It’s not just feed, walk, and finish. The half-hour in-home visit is enough time in most cases but we do recommend at least twice a day.

We are well aware that being to trust a stranger in your house is just as important as the care they give to your beloved pet(s). You can rest assured that your sitter has been checked and re-checked, is thoroughly interviewed, has loads of experience in taking care of pets, and is bonded and insured. Your sitter’s visits are always GPS tracked. We would never allow someone in your home that we would not allow in our own home. Whenever possible, your sitter will join us for the Meet & Greet so you can put a face to the name. Sitters are also subject to unannounced spot visits by management.

If your sitter has any questions for you during the visit, our app includes a chat feature so communication is instantaneous. All this so your pet can enjoy every minute of the visit. If feeding is on the agenda, we’ll take care of that before the walk and make sure your pet has a full bowl of fresh, clean water before we leave. And just before we lock up and turn out the lights, we’ll take a picture of your pet to send to you.

We’re sure that as a pet guardian, you want to make sure your four-legged family member is in good hands. And, of course, as pet guardians ourselves, we want to make sure that your pooch is a good fit for our household so all can enjoy an harmonious stay.

That’s why we require a Meet n’ Greet so we can all agree that the fit is doggone perfect.

Meet n’ Greets take about a half hour and are held in your home so we can get to know your pet before the In-Home visit.

For our new guests, Meet n’ Greets are scheduled after you make an in-home request. Once it’s out of the way, you’ll have the ability to schedule a stay if something comes up last minute. It’s a great way for all us to begin to get to know each other

Please click the link below to be taken to our scheduling partner, Doggie Dashboard, to book boarding. You’ll need to have your pet’s vet-signed rabies certificate to complete the application. Although not required for in-home visits, we, nonetheless, recommend that your pet is up to date on all core vaccinations.
